Don't Give Up on your Dreams

Dreams sometimes have a funny way of working. We're given these God-given desires, gifts, and ideas and then we put those desires into action and work on our dreams. And why do dreams have a funny way of working? Because sometimes, they just don't seem to "work" when you thought they would. That's when we need to step back, get out of the way, and look at the bigger picture.
For example, in 2019 I was working as a registered nurse. To be honest, I strongly disliked my job. I was unhappy, depressed, and wanted an "out". I started asking God for my purpose and for some direction in life. I wanted to find something that would let me leave nursing. I began to get this desire to create skin care - and so in 2019 I left my job to pursue this huge, crazy dream of starting my own skin care business. And guess what? I failed.
There's a lot of events that happened in between 2019 and now (2025), but here we are six years later and I'm still holding onto that dream. Why? Because I know it's God-given. I believe God was giving me a preview of what is to come. Even if I don't physically see it in this lifetime - maybe my daughter will see it flourish it hers. But I love what I do. I found a passion of mine that I simply cannot give up on - it's something that God has planted inside of me that I know is a part of who I'm meant to be and what I'm meant to do.
Also, before God can bring our dreams to pass, he wants to work on us. He wants to work on our character. He sees the deep things within us that we don't. He knows what the future holds, and we simply do not. So, we have to trust that his "wait" is not a forever-denial. It's simply a not yet. So, whatever dream you believe is God-given, don't give up on it. Wait for the Lord, and he will continue to strengthen you. Delight yourself in Him, and He will give you the desires of your heart!
